Soul City Groove

Soul City regrets to inform our loyal fans of the departure of Sean Tarlton, our long-time bass player.  Sean is in pursuit of other opportunities in music and will certainly be visible on the local music scene in other line-ups.  Meanwhile we are very pleased to announce the arrival of Hank Heijink (pronounced he-ink), a highly accomplished musician and soul music lover who joins us on bass.  Please watch the “About Us” page for an updated bio and pictures of Hank.  

I stopped by the new High Falls Cafe location on Friday before band rehearsal.  The new place looks great.  They're now located at 2842 US-209, Kingston, NY 12401.  It was packed when I got there so I know that the same great food and atmosphere are afoot.  The new stage is perfectly placed and easy to see from any table or from the bar.  We'll be playing there on May 13, 2023.  Cant wait!

Soul City brought its funky groove to the Lake Mohonk Mountain House last night.  I want to remind our fans that Lake Mohonk is truly one of the most beautiful venues you will ever find.  The view from the hotel is incredible and I was able to briefly enjoy the sun setting over the Schwangunk mountains before we set up to perform.  Although our performances there are only open to hotel guests, staying at the resort is a must-do for your bucket list.  Hike the mountains, play a round of golf, have a relaxing…

What a blast!  Our thanks go out to the fantastic sound man and Dee Jay that worked with us to get best atmosphere.  Everyone in the crowd was fantastic but a shout out to the dancers par excellance (you know who you are!)  Anyone that really likes to party should check out Soul City when we play this venue,  Not only is the music great but the people that show up are the best.  Hope to see you there soon!
